SMR Nuclear Canada Summit is the leading national event dedicated to advancing the conversation—and action—around small modular reactors (SMRs) in Western Canada. Held annually in Alberta, this summit is where decision-makers, innovators, utilities, First Nations, and governments come together to explore the transformative potential of SMRs in building a cleaner, more secure energy future for Canada.

From deployment readiness and project financing to Indigenous partnerships and workforce development, SMR Nuclear Canada is where real progress is made.

A National Platform for a Regional Opportunity

Launched in 2024, the Summit was created to spotlight the growing interest and readiness for SMR & nuclear development in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. With a unique focus on Western Canada, the event provides space for local communities and industry to connect with national and global leaders in nuclear energy.

By 2025, SMR Nuclear Canada had already grown into a sold-out gathering of more than 400 participants representing:

  • Energy-intensive industries (oil sands, petrochemical, refining, mining)
  • Utilities and power generators
  • Technology developers
  • EPCs and construction firms
  • Indigenous governments and businesses
  • Academia and R&D
  • Municipal, provincial, and federal governments
  • Investors and financial institutions
  • Business services, and supply chain
